Spice Farm Tour

Zanzibar has been one of the world’s biggest spices exporters and for over 150 years it was world’s Number 1 cloves exporter which brought it the Spice Island nickname.

Everything started with the discovery of the island by the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama who sensed its economical potential. This resulted in the colonisation of the island by the Portuguese but actually, Zanzibar became a force in the global spices market during the next colonial period of the Oman (but more about this you will find in the Stone Town tour).

In this full of fun and humour day trip you will visit an authentic spice farm where our guides will explain in detail the story behind each plant that grows there, most of which you use everyday without knowing what goes into it before it reaches your plate, skin or hair.

In the end you will serve an authentic Swahili lunch served in the proper authentic way: shared and sitting on the ground.

P.S If you want more, just ask. Nothing is fixed here.
